Linares got out of his car when someone attacked him and then shot him, police said.

According to the police report, the shooting was monitored and a .45 caliber cartridge case was recovered at the scene.

On Monday, police received a report of a person matching the description of the murder and arrested Bendross.

Bendross was in possession of a .45 caliber Glock pistol, the report said.

Forensic examinations of the weapon revealed that it matched the cartridge case found at the crime scene, the report said.

A witness also identified Bendross on a flyer marked “Identification Required” at the crime scene, the report said.

Benross was arrested and taken to prison.

On Tuesday, Bendross was appointed as a public defender in court and ordered held without bail. His mother told the judge that Bendross has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, is bipolar and has been convicted seven or eight times under the Baker Act.
