Depew, New York: Deer playing peek-a-boo go viral

A woman in Depew gained viral fame for a video she took of a young deer playing peek-a-boo with in her backyard. Dawn Buck, who lives in the Depew and Cheektowaga areas, was in her backyard when she took this video.

The deer appears to be playing peek-a-boo in her yard, and it's pretty funny. When she recorded the video last week, it had several hundred views, and then out of the blue, it went crazy. It was suddenly featured on countless different news channels on Facebook, YouTube, X, and more.

This time of year you will see the first baby deer being born. If you see a fawn somewhere, such as near your house, that seems lost and all alone, you should not touch it. Usually the fawn will hide until its mother comes back to get it and will not be too far away and feeding.

There are so many cases where people touch the deer or call the Erie County SPCA to alert them about the deer, but in reality, this is completely normal.
