The viral videos “I feel sorry for girls who can’t trust their best friend with their husband” have sparked a heated debate about marital trust

You don't have to Google “husband slept with best friend” to know that this happens, but by the way, it's not uncommon…

Search engine results for "Husband slept with best friend" from various websites that discuss infidelity and personal stories

And a very quick search on any Internet platforms are proof. In fact, according to nationwide responses to the General Social Survey, over 50% of respondents admitted to having had extramarital sex and being unfaithful to someone they knew well, such as a close friend.

Now the relationship between husband and best friend is going viral on TikTok – and people aren’t holding back.

It started with some women posting videos of their husbands getting very, um, cozy(?) with their best friends, saying things like, “I feel sorry for girls who can't trust their best friends with their husbands!”

For example, the videos showed the best friend and her husband hugging, jumping into pools while holding on to each other (even after they were in the water), and much more.

The women shared these videos to modestly boast about how much they trusted their two men And their best friends together. BUT … many women viewed the intimate interactions as warning signs:

Some felt that the videos made it clear that there was indeed more than just platonic feelings between the husbands and best friends:

For the sake of completeness, we have no evidence that these husbands and best friends are cheating, but thousands of women on TikTok seem to think the videos are all the proof they need:

The skepticism came mainly from women who had experienced this type of cheating themselves:

Or as an external person:

Even women who have been happily married for a long time agreed that the level of ~intimacy~ between husbands and best friends in most videos was concerning:

Many women who were the “best friend” supported the married women and said the videos were inappropriate:

Overall, hundreds of thousands of women agreed that it is nice to be in a relationship or to get along well with their best friend's partner, but that there is a certain limit that should not be crossed:

And it's pretty crazy that over 80,000 women actually don't care about and/or don't like their best friend's husband:

And finally, nearly 20,000 people view their girlfriends' husbands as mere creatures who are just *there*, haha:
