Russia issues arrest warrant for IStories editor-in-chief Anin

The Russian Interior Ministry has issued an arrest warrant for the editor-in-chief of the investigative news channel IStories, Mediazona reported Monday.

Roman Anin, who previously worked as a correspondent for the newspaper Novaya Gazeta, was listed in the Russian law enforcement agency's online database of wanted persons, but the entry was missing and no charges were brought against him.

Medizona stated that the company was not aware of any criminal proceedings pending against the journalist.

According to TASS, law enforcement authorities initiated the case against Fomina after she interrogated a Russian soldier who admitted to killing a civilian in the Ukrainian village of Andriivka.

Both IStories and TV Rain have been designated as “undesirable organizations” by the Russian government, and virtually anyone in the country is banned from working for them.
