Suspect turns himself in after shooting at Mercer County hotel that left a child and several adults injured

TO UPDATE: Saturday, June 15, 2024, 4 p.m. | PRINCETON, WV (WVNS) – Several adults and a 5-year-old were injured in a shooting on the grounds of the Days Inn in Princeton. A suspect has since turned himself in.

Police officers were on the scene at the Days Inn in Princeton where a domestic incident turned deadly on Friday, June 14, 2024, when two people began shooting at each other. As a result of the shooting, three adults and a five-year-old child were hospitalized with gunshot wounds.

Another adult suffered a graze wound to the face but did not seek medical attention.

Christopher Wilborn Jr. turned himself in on June 14, 2024, and is currently awaiting arraignment. The second shooter appeared to have acted in self-defense at the time, investigators said.

Wilborn Jr.'s bail is set at $1,000,000 cash only. He is charged with four counts of reckless endangerment and one count of malicious wounding.
