Cave City and Munfordville police make arrest after motorcycle pursuit on I-65

MUNFORDVILLE, Kentucky – Munfordville police made an arrest following a chase Thursday evening.

Cave City Police requested assistance from Munfordville Police regarding a northbound chase on I-65.

A Munfordville police officer observed Cave City police pursuing the vehicle, a 2005 Honda VT1100 motorcycle. The officer followed the vehicle north for twenty minutes before approaching Exit 81.

The officer says the motorcyclist cut off his police vehicle and nearly collided with it. The officer observed the vehicle attempting to do the same to two other police vehicles in an attempt to force the police vehicles off the roadway. The driver recklessly overtook vehicles and changed lanes without warning.

The vehicle drove through Sonora before coming to a stop about three kilometers north of Sonora.

According to the complaint, officers arrested 33-year-old Steven Wayne Kolley. According to police, Kolley had two syringes and methamphetamine in his jacket.

Kolley was driving with a license revoked for drunk driving.

Kolley is charged with reckless endangerment of a police officer 1st degree, possession of a controlled substance 1st degree, 2nd offense (methamphetamine), purchase/possession of drug paraphernalia, fleeing or eluding police 1st degree (motor vehicle), driving while intoxicated without a license – 1st offense (total offense), and reckless driving.

Kolley is being held in the Hart County Jail.
