Arrest in connection with the shooting in Lafayette in which a 15-year-old was injured

LAFAYETTE, Louisiana – A 17-year-old was arrested in connection with a shooting in Lafayette Friday night that left a 15-year-old injured.

According to the Lafayette Police Department, on June 14, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Van Buren Drive because a shooting had occurred.

Officers found a male victim with a gunshot wound at the scene. Lafayette Police said the 15-year-old victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. He underwent surgery and is currently in stable condition.

According to Sergeant Robin Green, one suspect was arrested in connection with the shooting: 17-year-old Lloyd Courville of Lafayette. Courville was taken to the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center and charged with attempted first-degree murder.
