Ludvig Aberg's girlfriend Olivia Peet goes viral at the US Open

While the rising Swedish star Ludvig Aberg leads the US Open in Pinehurst at the weekend, his girlfriend Olivia Peet steals the show.

Aberg, 24, studied at Texas Tech University and is already No. 6 in the world rankings despite playing less than two full seasons on the PGA Tour. He already has four professional victories to his name and just finished an impressive second at the Masters.

Aberg played rounds of 66 and 69 on the challenging Pinehurst No. 2 course and goes into the weekend at 5 under par and one stroke ahead of Bryson Dechambeau, Patrick Cantlay and Belgian Thomas Detry.

And yet, despite his incredible play, he seems to be overshadowed by Peet.

So who on earth is Olivia Peet? We're glad you asked.

Peet and Aberg have been together for several years after attending Texas Tech together. Like Aberg, she was an athlete who competed on the tennis team. And like Aberg, she is not from the United States.

Peet is from England and her father Chris was a professional tennis player.

According to her Texas Tech athlete bio, Peet planned to pursue a professional tennis career after graduation, but her college singles record of 73-57 suggests another option may be on the cards.

As long as she stays at Aberg, she can probably do whatever she wants.

The young star is sixth on the 2024 PGA money list with just over $7 million and has already turned down a huge offer from the LIV Golf Series.

Why? Aberg says it's all about competition.

“I want to play against the best because I'm a competitive person and I like to play against the best players,” he said. “Unfortunately, it doesn't look like that at the moment, it's a bit more fragmented.”

“When I look at the PGA Tour and the competitions there, there is so much history surrounding all the competitions. And I like that, that's my goal. But then you have to respect everyone's decisions.”
