Pawan Kalyan's Russian wife wears tika, performs aarti, video goes viral

Pawan Kalyan was sworn in as a Minister in the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Actor-politician Pawan Kalyan has been appointed as Deputy Chief Minister in the Chandrababu Naidu government in Andhra Pradesh. Mr Kalyan, who was elected as the leader of the Jana Sena Party in the Andhra Pradesh Parliament earlier this week, was given a warm welcome on his return home on Wednesday. His wife Anna Lezhneva, a former model-turned-actress from Russia, celebrated the occasion with a traditional Hindu ritual. She performed aarti and applied a tika on his forehead. The moment, caught on camera, went viral on all social media platforms.

One user wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Wow, welcomed with the traditional culture of Bharat. Awesome.”

Another wished her well. “Best wishes to Ms Kalyan. Great adjustment to Indian culture, ma'am.”

“I am very happy that the traditions are being followed, especially by Mrs. Pavan,” read one comment.

Anna Lezhneva first met Pawan Kalyan in 2011 while shooting for the film Teen Maar. They married two years later, in September 2013. She is Pawan Kalyan's third wife and has a son, Mark Shankar Pawanovich, with him. She also has a daughter from a previous marriage.

Over the years, Ms Lezhneva and Mr Kalyan's relationship has been criticized and tested, largely due to the Telugu star's complicated marital history. He was married to Nandini in 1997, and the marriage ended in divorce in 2008. He then married actress Renu Desai in 2009, with whom he has two children before the two separated in 2012.

JSP leader Pawan Kalyan was sworn in as a minister in the Andhra Pradesh government on Wednesday. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union ministers Amit Shah and JP Nadda and other dignitaries.

The alliance of BJP, TDP and Jana Sena has won the elections in Andhra Pradesh, winning 164 of the 175 seats in the legislative assembly and 21 of the 25 seats in the Lok Sabha of Andhra Pradesh.
