1 dead, 4 hospitalized after apparent drive-by shooting in Fort Lauderdale – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) – One man was killed and four others were hospitalized after they came under fire in a Fort Lauderdale neighborhood.

Fort Lauderdale police units arrived at the scene of the shooting in the 2300 block of Northwest Eighth Street around 7:10 p.m. Friday.

Upon their arrival, officers found the victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Department paramedics took all five men to Broward Health Medical Center, where one of them was pronounced dead.

According to investigators, another patient is in critical condition, while the other three are stable and expected to survive.

A neighbor told 7News the shots “sounded like a war zone.”

According to investigators, it appears to have been a drive-by shooting. They have not released any further details as the investigation is ongoing.
