PORTLAND, Oregon (COIN) — A man was arrested after being accused of committing an armed carjacking in Vancouver on Friday.

The suspect was identified by the Clark County Sheriff's Office as 22-year-old Edin M. Fallon.

The sheriff's office responded at 8:45 a.m. to reports that someone pointed a handgun at victims, ordered them to exit the vehicle, and stole their 1970s Ford F1 pickup truck near the 4500 block of Northeast 54th Avenue. Officials said the suspect fled south on the same street.

The stolen car was later found by a Vancouver Police Department officer with one person inside. The truck “then remained on southbound Interstate 5 near the NE Fourth Plain Blvd exit,” the Clark County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

A “high-risk vehicle stop” was then conducted, involving multiple law enforcement agencies, including additional CCSO officers, VPD officers, and Washington State Patrol units. They also found a weapon in the truck.

Fallon was arrested, identified as a suspect by the carjacking victim, and booked into the Clark County Jail on robbery and carjacking charges.
