The Division III regional track and field meet, which was canceled last week due to rain, is scheduled to be held this afternoon at Lake Linden. The Copper Mountain Conference meet scheduled for today in Baraga has been postponed until Wednesday.


In the NHL tournament…
• The final second round match will be decided tonight when the Canucks host the Oilers. The set is tied 3-3.


In last night’s NBA Conference semifinals…
• The Pacers defeated the Knicks 130-109. Indiana won the Eastern Conference semifinals 4-3.
• The Timberwolves defeated the Nuggets 98-90. Minnesota won the Western Conference semifinals 4-3.

This means that the Conference Championship Series is set. In the East, the Pacers will face the Celtics, with the first game taking place tomorrow evening in Indiana. In the West, the Timberwolves will face the Mavericks, with the first game taking place on Wednesday evening.


The Tigers fell behind early yesterday in a 6-4 loss to the Diamondbacks, as starter Matt Manning allowed four runs in five innings. Detroit mounted a comeback, aided by a Spencer Torkelson home run. A Kerry Carpenter triple in the seventh inning tied the game, but Carpenter was ejected at home plate while attempting to turn the triple into an inside-the-park home run. Arizona regained the lead with two runs by Tyler Holton and Alex Faedo in the bottom of the seventh inning. Detroit was dangerous in the eighth inning, but Matt Vierling and Gio Urshela struck out, ending the inning.

The Tigers open a series tonight in Kansas City. Reese Olson will face Michael Wacha. Coverage begins at 7:15 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Brewers were unable to recover from their early deficit and lost 9-4 to the Astros yesterday.

The Brewers visit the Marlins tonight. Joe Ross will face Ryan Weathers.
