Now that fashion month has finally come to a close, we have time to reflect on the trends that we will focus on for next season. Here is our short list of the top 14 trends of 2014.
Robe Coats Never thought you would be taking a sartorial cue from Hugh Hefner, did you? This season, the house coat makes a major comeback. Everyone from Altuzarra to Richard Chai showed toppers that could double as bathrobes.

Swinging '60s The '60s are back in a major way. Maybe a bunch of designers got together and decided to binge-watch the latest season of Mad Menbecause we are seeing a lot of mini skirts, knee-high boots, and accessories that remind us of yesteryear. Whatever the reason, we’re happy that the '60s are swinging back our way.

Knit Wit For fall knits, nothing is too big or too intricate. And that’s the way we like it. From cozy pants at Marc Jacobs and Céline that promise to alleviate the need for tights, to similarly warm varieties at Stella McCartney, the sweater is no longer relegated to the top half.

Larger Than Life I like the idea of the oversize trend sticking around for fall mainly because it’s the best way to hide an extra few pounds. If this terrible winter has taught me anything, it’s that I am unwilling to trek to the gym in the snow. All hail bigger sweaters, pants, and coats. The bigger the better!
Alexander McQueen, Céline, The Row, and Sacai
Straight Jackets Winter can make you feel crazy, am I right? Well, luckily, Alber Elbaz and company have thought of a creative way to keep you both warm and secure. Our arms might be pinned down to our bodies, but at least we'll look amazing. Dexterity is so last season.
